| History of New Hope Anointing Oils |
|
In 1977, the Lord directed Don and Earline Rebstock to formulate anointing oil scented with frankincense and myrrh. Frankincense symbolizes Jesus’ holiness and myrrh is symbolic of the suffering He would endure while on earth. Olive oil is used as the base for the anointing oil symbolizing the Holy Spirit, salvation, and grace. (Hebrews 1:9) We presented the anointing oil and interest was generated; however, it was not the Lord’s time. We continued our development, researching biblical fragrances and spices, their availability and cost, and it’s noteworthy that some have been lost over the centuries while others are still available and very costly. Many are still being gathered in methods similar to biblical times. In July of 1977, Earline asked the Lord to reveal the name for the oil. He spoke to her that the name should be “New Hope.” Jesus is our New Hope, our salvation, and the promise of eternal life. In 1992, the Lord called Earline home.
On March 28, 1999, God sent a special lady named Elizabeth to be united in marriage with Don. |
